Good Faith or Miser?

What do you do when you lend a friend some money and then he conveniently forgets to pay you back. You keep quiet thinking he doesn't have much and he'll pay when he has some money left over. After all, he is a very nice guy.

But then you find out that he's going back home for his 2-week contractual break and wants to change 120,000 Naira into British pounds.

What do you do?

I guess this is one way to lose one's hard earned credibility.

Ask him. Maybe he forgot.

Yes, I too gave him the benefit of the doubt. The last time I asked him, he said, "Oh yeah, I owe lots of people money." and smiled and walked. He eventually did repay me back.

But when another colleague asked him for his money back, he actually had the cheek to say, "Oh I thought you had forgotten about it."

His only mistake was to hit the Reply All button when the HR exec asked them how much money they wanted to change. If he hadn't done that, most people, myself inclusive, would still think that he's broke.

Then he's a bit of scum, isn't he? I don't know how people could think that other people should lend them money so they can live more lavish lives.
