Wet Pants

Come
With me to a third grade classroom...... There
Is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and
All of a sudden, there is a puddle between his
Feet and the front of his pants are wet. He
Thinks his heart is going to stop because he
Cannot possibly imagine how this has
Happened.  It's never happened before, and
He knows that when the boys find out he will
Never hear the end of it.. When the girls find
Out, they'll never speak to him again as long as
He lives...

The boy
Believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his
Head down and prays this prayer, 'Dear God, this
Is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes
From now I'm dead
Meat.'

He looks
Up from his prayer and here comes the teacher
With a look in her eyes that says he has been
Discovered.

As the
Teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named
Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled
With water.. Susie trips in front of the teacher
And inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the
Boy's' lap.

The boy
Pretends to be angry, but all the while is
Saying to himself, 'Thank you, Lord! Thank you,
Lord!'

Now all
Of a sudden, instead of being the object of
Ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy.. The
Teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym
Shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All
The other children are on their hands and knees
Cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is
Wonderful . But as life would have it, the
Ridicule that should have been his has been
Transferred to someone else -
Susie.

She
Tries to help, but they tell her to get out.
You've done enough, you
Klutz!'

Finally,
At the end of the day, as they are waiting for
The bus, the boy walks over to Susie and
Whispers, 'You did that on purpose, didn't you?'
Susie whispers back, 'I wet my pants once
Too..'

May God
Help us see the opportunities that are always
Around us to do
Good...

Remember.......Just
Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any
More than standing in your garage makes you a
Car..

Each and
Everyone one of us is going through tough times
Right now, but God is getting ready to bless you
In a way that only He can. Keep the
Faith.

Australia Day 2011 Celebrations in Perth

The crowd gathered near the river by noon time to get the best spots for the 8 pm show. Since we're allergic to the extreme heat, we drove with a friend to somewhere near Victoria Park and caught a glimpse of the high rise fireworks. The low rise fireworks were blocked by the trees. The video shows the last burst of fireworks when the show ended 30 minutes later.

But I Still Know Who She Is...

This was sent by a good friend of mine....

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to have breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

How to Bring Your Roses Back to Life

I learned something new recently.

I learned that no amount of watering and fertiliser will bring back a dead rose!

All you had to do was the cut the stem underneath the rose, and the flower will blossom again.

And here I was, watering and giving it more fertiliser - duh!

Interesting...

Happy New Year

As 2010 comes to an end, let's be grateful that we're still alive and
no nuclear bomb has wiped out a portion of the planet.

As we strive to achieve more and more, slow down and appreciate all
that you have, lest you lose what you treasure.

Remember. Things will come and go but your loved ones will only live
once with you. Appreciate them. Cherish them. Make them feel
important.
