How To Save Water-Logged Electronics

You're on vacation in France. You lean over the reflecting pool in the Versailles garden, and plop! Your cellphone lands in the water.

Don't fret. You may be able to save water-logged electronics with this simple trick: Before you test your phone, camera, or PDA to see if it's all right, stick it in a bag of rice and let the rice draw the water out overnight. If the device doesn't work in the morning, the damage is done. But there's a good chance the rice will do the trick.
