Our World

Our World From Space

God made men to be the guardians of this planet. Instead we rape her every day. In our constant pursuit to fulfill our needs, we neglect to think about the consequences of our actions.

Politicians are not allowed to voice their concern over the environment for fear of losing votes.

Business succumb to the stock market which dictates that profit comes first before anything else.

TO BE NUMBER 1 IS THE RULE OF THE GAME.

And this rule is bringing mankind to its end.

We’re not replenishing our world faster than we’re consuming it. We’re like the frog in the children’s parable, boiling slowly in water. Before we know it, the water (our earth) becomes too hot for us to inhibit. Then what do we do?

Glacier breaking...

Glaciers breaking in the North and South pole should be signs that our world is getting hotter and hotter. How much more heat can we take? Only the people living around the equator can feel the heat. The rest of the world is still cooler. But when those parts of the world get warmer, then its too late for us.

The Kyoto protocol stipulates the drastic reduction in the production of carbon dioxide. Is this too little, too late? The big giants, especially the United States, are against this protocol as it puts more pressure on them to switch to a cleaner source of fuel. But the US produces nearly 50% of the green house gases, but yet, they get away with it simply because their the most powerful country in the world.

It’s raining now in Kuala Lumpur. As I write this, the clock strikes 12 midnight. The soft sound of rain water is just so beautiful. The world looks so peaceful and clean after the rain. But only for a while before we start polluting it again. Little by little, the duration between rain falls becomes longer and longer. And soon, we’ll be like Africa or the Middle East.

What then? Who do we cry to?

People will start hoarding and fighting for water, just like how we fight for oil today. Once people start fighting for water, then we can see the real animal instincts in ourselves, something we have been hiding behind our false smiles.

We cant blame the dinasours for their extinction but whoever comes after us, will laugh at our foolishness that caused our extinction.

RIP The Human Race.
