View over Wastwater, looking towards Wasdale Head, Lake District.
Wastwater is in the far west of the Lake District which gives it it's odd-sounding name. It is about three miles long and is the deepest lake in England.
This is the most remote and hard to reach of the lakes, but I think it is probably the most dramatically beautiful, surrounded by the high peaks of Scafell Pike [highest peak in England] and Great Gable, the one in the centre of this shot.
Two 'branches' of my family were camping up there at the head of the lake, so yesterday I went to visit them. The day started out grey and wet ... but soon turned into one of those glorious summer days ...
A little piece of paradise.
A collection of words for the mind to reflect on and pictures that inspire the soul.
